A Vermont substance abuse facility in Underhill has decided against relocating to Williston.
Maple Leaf Farm had planned to expand into the former Pine Ridge School but has abandoned those plans because of project delays and rising costs.
Executive Director Bill Young tells the Burlington Free Press that the facility had up to 150 potential patients on its waiting list.
Young says the center planned to seek approval for 96 beds in Williston.
But he said the project is no longer viable because of delays in getting approvals and rising expenses of running the Underhill facility.
He estimated that Maple Leaf had spent between $200-thousand and $240-thousand dollars already on the proposal.
