Summer School: How to Dance at a Wedding

It's back to the blackboard for another installment of Vermont Edition Summer School! Whether you have two left feet or can cut a rug like Fred Astaire, wedding invitation always mean one thing: time to dance.

"If something goes wrong - and it probably will - cover it up. Nobody needs to know that's not what the teacher said"

To prepare, we put on our dancing shoes and met with Kevin Laddison of First Step Dance in Burlington, who took us through the perfect ballroom dance.

While steps and form are undeniably important aspects of mastering the wedding dance, Laddison says that looking confident is half the battle: "The best thing you can do to look good is to stand tall and look out at your partner, past your partner. Don't look down. If you look down, you don't look confident".

For more of our Summer School series, you can listen to Vermont Edition every Monday this summer. Next week, we'll learn how to scythe!
