Southern Vermont College has appointed a new chief financial officer after the death of the former CFO who was under investigation for embezzlement.
Claire Wurmfeld most recently served as associate vice president of financial planning at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. She joins Southern Vermont College starting July 8.
The Bennington Banner reports that Wurmfeld replaces James Beckwith, who resigned and apparently committed suicide in February after learning of embezzlement allegations against him.
