About 400 employees at Vermont's Ethan Allen plant have the day off after a fire damaged two sawdust silos at the furniture manufacturer.
Orleans Assistant Fire Chief Scott Burdick says an issue with a motor that brings saw dust from the boiler room at the factory to the silos sparked the fire Tuesday night. Firefighters were at the scene through early Wednesday.
There were no reports of injuries.
The American Red Cross of the Vermont and New Hampshire Upper Valley Region provided food, beverages and other assistance to firefighters.
Maintenance crews will be hauling the sawdust out of the plant Wednesday.
