The Vermont Democratic Party has a new leader.
The Democrats' state committee voted unanimously on Saturday for Dottie Deans to replace outgoing chair Jake Perkins.
Deans, of North Pomfret, has served as vice-chair of the party. The former elementary school teacher had served as town chair in Pomfret.
The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus reports that she's eager to start work on the 2014 elections.
