The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife office that handles hunting and fishing licenses finally has a new home, 18 months after Tropical Storm Irene forced it out of Waterbury.
Department officials say hunting and fishing licenses will now be managed out of the Dewey Building, near the National Life building in Montpelier where many state employees are working.
Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Patrick Berry says licensing personnel had been working out of a temporary office on the Barre-Montpelier Road.
Now anyone purchasing a lifetime license, typically for a child, or any of several types of disability licenses will need to contact staff at the licensing unit in the new Montpelier office.
Other Vermont hunting, fishing and trapping licenses can be purchased on the Fish & Wildlife website.
