Last Night of the Proms

The last night of the world's largest classical music festival, the BBC Proms, is always a festive occasion, with special guests and a boisterous audience. This year Marin Alsop becomes the first woman to conduct the Last Night, leading the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Musical guests will be violinist Nigel Kennedy and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato. Click here for complete program details.

After graduate studies in musicology at New York University, Walter began his radio career at WNCN in New York. He joined Vermont Public in 1984.
