20th Annual Vermont Organics Recycling Summit: Compost! Feed the Soil that Feeds Us
As communities face challenges ranging from climate disruptions to food access, compost offers a tangible way to rebuild local connections between food, soil, and people. This year’s theme celebrates compost as a cornerstone of healthy ecosystems and thriving communities. By returning organic matter and life to the soil, compost closes the loop between food and what we discard, enriching soils, improving water retention, and bolstering nutrient sovereignty and resilience. Whether on farms, in gardens, or at municipal and community scales, compost helps sustain the soil that sustains us all.
Are you inspired by the power of compost to nourish soil, strengthen local food systems, and support community resilience?

“Nostalgianator" is a fun feature of paintings by Todd DePerno, a graphic designer turned painter who worked with the likes of Burton Snowboards and the US Ski and Snowboard Teams among other brands. The show opens Saturday, Feb. 28 from 4-7pm and will be on view through March 31 at Front Four Gallery. Front Four Gallery is open every day 10-5, so stop in before March 31 to see the work!

Experience Laurel Canyon, an acoustic trio of celebrated singers, songwriters, and producers paying definitive tribute to the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Grammy Award-winning writer/producer Mark Hudson, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Gary Burr, and veteran singer/songwriter Mark Mirando unite to perform the hits, revisit the early bands, and honor the solo years of C, S, N & Y.
Each member brings a storied musical legacy: Hudson has worked with Ringo Starr, Aerosmith, and Cher; Burr has penned chart-topping hits for artists from Garth Brooks to Christina Aguilera; and Mirando’s credits include recordings with Ringo Starr and Harry Nilsson. Together, they capture the spirit and sound of a generation, a connection made all the more personal by Burr’s own experience in the audience at Woodstock in 1969.

ZERO CELSIUS unfolds at Mad Arts and Sugarbush Resort, bringing together artwork that explores the textures, tensions, and transformations of winter. From the hush of frozen landscapes to the volatility of a warming climate, the exhibition reflects on how the cold season shapes—and is reshaped by—human and environmental relationships.Featuring sculpture, installation, sound, photography, and digital media, ZERO CELSIUS examines winter as material, concept, and metaphor: crystalline, fleeting, and ecologically vital. Visitors are invited to consider the fragility of snow in a changing world, reconnect with winter’s wonder and silence, and share their own stories of a season both timeless and increasingly imperiled.
