Sing Nowell: Songs & Carols for Midwinter & Christmastide

Sing Nowell: Songs & Carols for Midwinter & Christmastide

Huge Rams! Cherry Trees! Wassailing! Chariots of Cherubim Chanting!

On Tuesday, December 2 at 7 p.m., the Latchis Theatre will ring again with the sounds of Sing Nowell: Songs & Carols for Midwinter & Christmastide. Now in its fourth year, this musical celebration of community and midwinter benefits Groundworks Collaborative in their work to end hunger and homelessness for all people in our region of Southern Vermont. Brattleboro folk musicians (Fred Breunig and Andy Davis of Nowell Sing We Clear; Arthur Davis, Emma Schneider, Guillaume Sparrow-Pepin, Laurel Swift) are joined by the jubilant Vox Hunters (Flannery Brown, Armand Aromin, and Benedict Gagliardi) of Providence, Rhode Island in sharing folk music favorites from sources such as Jean Ritchie, England’s Sheffield pubs, dusty archives, and the Oxford Book of Carols. This concert also honors the memory of Nowell Sing We Clear’s beloved John Roberts in this first winter without him.

Tickets are available through the Latchis Theatre at Sing Nowell 2025. Over the last few years, this concert has raised thousands of dollars for Groundworks to collaborate with community members to meet basic needs for food, health, and housing. The concert will also be streamed online at https://nowellsingweclear.com/ with a requested donation to Groundworks.

For wheelchair accommodation and other accessibility questions, please contact Jon Potter at 802-254-1109, ext. 3 or jon@latchisarts.org.
