Mental Health Community Conversation

Mental Health Community Conversation

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont (NAMI Vermont) is excited to announce the launch of our new Community Conversation series in the Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. From March through August 2026, a panel of experts will share their knowledge on a mental health topic in a supportive and welcoming environment.

This is a unique opportunity for family members, peers, advocates, or anyone interested in mental health to learn how each topic relates to mental health, access services and supports in your community, and connect with others in your area. Our panelists bring their personal experiences to the table, using their stories to inspire others and foster healing. Audience members are encouraged to engage, ask questions, and share their own lived experiences.

We're kicking off our first Community Conversation with local Vermont authors Jodi Girouard and Omega Jade. They will be sharing their topic, Healing Words: Local Authors Share Their Mental Health Journeys and Texts, offering insights into their personal mental health journeys and how their experiences have shaped and inspired their writing.

Thanks to the generous support from the University of Vermont Medical Center Community Health Investment Fund, this event is FREE for all participants. Light refreshments will be provided.
