This 6-week course is for adults who want to build confidence with investing. Whether you’re just getting started or want to sharpen your financial skills, this course is designed to help you understand the essentials of investing and build a personalized plan—step by step. Through real-life examples, simple tools and hands-on activities, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how to invest intentionally and avoid common mistakes.

Week 1: Why Invest? Setting Goals That Matter
Learn how inflation affects your savings, how compound interest works and how to set goals with purpose.

Week 2: Understanding Risk
Explore the relationship between risk and return, emotional investing and how to find your own comfort zone.

Week 3: What Are You Investing In?
Break down the basics of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs and how diversification can work for you.

Week 4: How to Build a Portfolio
Learn how to use index funds, automate contributions and build a simple, cost-effective investment strategy.

Week 5: Choosing the Right Accounts
Discover the differences between Roth IRAs, Traditional IRAs and brokerage accounts—and how taxes play a role.

Week 6: Putting It All Together
Finalize your plan, learn how to avoid common mistakes and know when and how to review it over time.

Outcome:
Every participant will leave with a simple, customized investment plan they’ve built themselves—designed to match their goals, timeline and comfort with risk.
