Bill grew up in Connecticut but moved to Vermont in his 20s. For the last 15 years, he has performed with local cover band The Smokey Newfield Project which focuses on a multi-genre sound with an emphasis on rich vocal harmonies and diverse instrumentation.

As a solo artist, Bill continues his interest in multiple genres of music ranging from the blues, classic rock, progressive rock, folk, country, and pop. His musical influences include the likes of the Beatles, the Byrds, Tom Petty, Chris Stapleton, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and Paul Simon. With simple guitar arrangements and skilled vocal stylings, Bill performs covers from the 1950s right up to today.
