2026 Farmers Night Series presents - David M. Wilson Memorial Concert with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Chorus
The fourth Farmers Night of 2026 on Wednesday, February 11 at 7:30 pm – the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and Chorus returns this season with the David M. Wilson Memorial Concert for its annual appearance, presenting Mozart’s Symphony No. 1 in E-flat Major, Debussy’s Gymnopedies, Ravel’s Bolero, and Frostiana, a setting of Robert Frost’s poems in a seven-movement suite by Randall Thompson of choral art songs with chamber orchestra. In addition, there will be a world premiere of a piece by a Music-Comp student. The concert will be conducted by VSO Music Director Andrew Crust and featuring the VSO Chorus.
This year’s offerings kick-off in mid-January and include a dozen weekly Wednesday performances with the exception of a break for Town Meeting in early March.
The series concludes in mid-April.
The Farmers Night Concert Series is a longstanding State House tradition which goes back over 100 years to a time when lawmakers entertained themselves in the House Chamber mid-week while away from home. Artists from around the state, in genres ranging from classical music to bluegrass to spoken word, perform ins the well of the House Chamber each Wednesday night at 7:30 during the legislative session. All concerts are free and open to the public. Doors Open at 7PM.
