We wrap up 2017 with a recap of some of our favorite new releases of the old year, with some previews of upcoming live performances, and with a wealth of wonderful world music too!

This week's calendar announcements:

The Good Times Café in Hinesburg presents Montreal guitarist Adam Karch on Saturday January 6th.

North Country singer and songwriter Eddie Lawrence will be at the Palmer Street Coffeehouse in Plattsburgh on Friday January 5th at 7:30 p.m.

There will be a Village Harmony concert in Tinmouth on Thursday January 4th at the Tinmouth Community Church at 7 p.m.

There will be a musical celebration of the life of Robert de Cormier on Sunday January 7th at Grace Church in Rutland beginning at 3 p.m.

The Vermont based band Night Tree will be in concert at the Ripton Community Coffee House on  Saturday January 6th at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

On Saturday January 6th at 7 p.m. Seven Stars Arts Center in Sharon presents an evening of Celtic music in a double bill with Andrea Beaton, Eric Wright, Beth Telford, and Will Wright.

The Monadnock Folklore Society presents the Peterborough, NH First Saturday Contra Dance on January 6th at the historic Peterborough Town House, featuring Steve Zakon-Anderson calling with fiddler Perin Ellsworth-Heller. Dancing begins at 8 p.m.

Old Songs in Voorheesville, NY presents a community barn dance on Saturday January 6th with music provided by Fennig’s All-Stars with Fern Bradley calling.

The VT Bluegrass Pioneers will be playing at the Topnotch in Stowe on Friday January 5th from 4-7 p.m.
 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
