What ever happened to the Roxbury fish hatchery after the devastation of Tropical Storm Irene? Why is the state's moose population in decline? How are Lake Champlain's sturgeon and sea lamprey holding up?
These are all issues that fall under the aegis of Vermont's Department of Fish and Wildlife.
We talk with Commissioner Louis Porter about the challenges faced by the state's wildlife population.
Also on the program, earlier this year Porter Medical Center in Middlebury had reported losses of 11 million dollars since 2012. To trim the budget, Porter announced layoffs, which included 8 nurses. We get an update on the efforts Porter is taking to regain financial stability from interim CEO Dr. Fred Kniffin.
