The VPR Poll: Parsing The Results

Results from The VPR Poll were released on July 27, 2016.

Vermont's primary election is now just a couple of weeks away. VPR wanted to understand what you know and think about those seeking national and statewide office. And what your opinions are about key issues facing the state.

The VPR Poll was conducted in July 11-23, 2016, by the Castleton Polling Institute. Vermonters were questioned about their recognition of candidates and how much they did or didn't favor them. They were also asked for their thoughts on issues such as the opiate crisis, raising the minimum wage, and higher education affordability.

We hear from Rich Clark, director of the Castleton Polling Institute, and VPR's Kathleen Masterson and John Dillon.

Also on the program, the Vermont Department of Health and Agency of Agriculture recently sent out a warning about the poison parsnip. It is ubiquitous and can cause severe reactions on your skin if you come in contact with the sap. Tim Schmalz, a plant pathologist with the Agency of Agriculture, tells us more about the plant.

Broadcast live on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
