Brain injuries have been in the spotlight a lot lately. They have become a major concern for professional sports leagues and the new movie "Concussion" has brought them to the forefront of public consciousness.
This has also meant that more money and research has been focused on learning about these injuries.
We talk with Deb Fournier, a nurse practitioner with the Trauma Service at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and Robert Luce, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Vermont, about the advancements that have been made in the science of concussions and traumatic brain injuries.
Also on the program, the Center for Media & Democracy in Burlington has combed through their video archives to put together a DVD called "Positively Bernie." It features Bernie Sanders through the years as mayor of Burlington and as Vermont's Congressman. We'll listen to a few audio clips from the project.
Broadcast live on Wed., January 6, 2016 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
