Is change coming for the Catholic Church? A Vatican summit last month - the Synod on the Family - tackled big issues including homosexuality, divorce, and contraception. Some observers are saying that it might have laid the groundwork for the Church changing its policies. We're talking about what happened at the Synod, what's next for a Church at a crossroads, and what it could mean for Catholics in Vermont and beyond .
We're hearing today from a longtime Church-watcher who hopes that changes are on the way. Dennis O'Brien is a founding member and member of the steering committee at Concerned Catholics of Vermont. He's also president emeritus of the University of Rochester, and was a professor of philosophy for many years.
Concerned Catholics of Vermont is hosting a day of reflection on the recent Synod on the Family at St. Michael's College on Saturday, November 14.
