The Vermont Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Wednesday on a case that involves a large-scale commercial solar farm proposed in Rutland Town. The case has put a spotlight on who has a say in where these projects are built, and what criteria are used to determine what's in the public good.
On the next Vermont Edition, we'll hear from both sides of the court case and learn whether it could set a precedent for other commercial solar proposals. Our guests are Rod Viens, executive vice president of groSolar, the White River Junction company that plans to build the solar farm; and Don Cioffi, a selectboard member in Rutland Town, who says the state is disregarding local planning and zoning decisions when it reviews commercial solar projects.
Also on the program, Pamela Paquin is the woman behind Petite Mort furs. She makes fur items - muffs, wraps, scarves, and more - sourced from roadkill.
