This week, we talk about how to properly introduce yourself to a group of people, answering this question from a listener:
"I own a business that specializes in wedding and custom cakes. Frequently, the clients are seated in our showroom when I enter and I introduce myself. Often I don't get a response and I need to ask for names. There are usually more than just [the] couple getting married at the appointment. I've learned not to assume who in the room is getting married. How do I politely ask who's who and [what] the relationship is, and should I be extending my hand for a handshake to the woman at the table? I often get a tepid response when I do that. Any help would be appreciated, thanks."
