Gimme Shelter - A benefit concert to help heat Brattleboro's Winter Overflow Shelter, will be held on Sunday, January 18 at 2:30 at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Brattleboro. Featured performers include Scott Ainslie, Lisa McCormick, and many others!
There will be an English Country dance this Friday, January 16th at the Elley-Long Music Center in Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester with music by McKinley James, and Aaron Marcus, with Rylee Wrenner and Roxann Nickerson sitting in on some tunes. Wendy Gilchrist and Val Medve will call.
The Vermont vocal trio Soaked Oats, featuring Amity Baker, Jeff Fellinger, and Don Jamison, will perform as part of the Westford Concert Series on Sunday January 18th at 4 p.m. at the United Church of Westford.
The Northern Bronze Handbell Ensemble will perform at the UU Church at the head of Church St. in Burlington on Thursday January 15th at 7:30 p.m.
The Summit School of Traditional Arts presents Montpelier's 5th annual "Spice on Snow" music festival, held at locales around Montpelier from January 15th - 18th. Featured artists include Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, the Revelers, Jon Gailmor, the Green Mountain Playboys, the Starline Rhythm Boys, Jeremiah McLane and Ariel Friedman, the Ollabelles, and many more. The Pride of New York, an Irish traditional supergroup including Joanie Madden and Billy McComiskey, will perform at the All Souls Gathering in Shelburne on Friday January 16th at 7 p.m. Legendary NYC Irish fiddler Tony De Marco will also be performing.
There will be a contra dance on Friday January 16th in Tinmouth with Luke Donforth calling, and live music by Shindy - Roger Kahle on guitar and Randy Miller on fiddle. The dance will be held at the Tinmouth Community Center on FridayJanuary 16 from 8 – 11 pm. All dances are taught, and you do not need a partner. If you are a beginner, come at 8 for a beginner’s session.
