Another week chock full of upcoming live concerts, including the Barre Heritage Festival, the Jig in the Valley Festival in East Fairfield, and a rare local performance by one of our favorites, the Ontario-based vocal trio Finest Kind.

This program will air on Sunday July 20th  from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Alan Greenleaf and the Doctor will be playing at the Westmore Park, [right in the middle of town] on Sun. July 27th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. as part of the Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Friends of Lake Willoughby. 

 East Fairfield's annual Jig in the Valley. Held this year on Sunday July 27th , the Jig will highlight Vermont's best in music, food, art, crafts, and community spirit.  Featured musicians will include John Cassel, Carol Ann Jones, The Oleo Romeos, The Stone Cold Roosters, The Will Patton Ensemble, and many more.

Brett Hughes and Friends will be playing at Radio Bean in Burlington on Tuesday July 22nd as part of HonkyTonk Tuesdays.  Music begins at 10:00 p.m.

The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center is pleased to present the Carol Ann Jones Quartet as part of their Peak VTartists Series on Saturday July 26th at 8:00 p.m. in Stowe.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music presents The Stray Birds and Mike Merenda and Ruth Ungar  on Thursday July 24th  at 7:30 p.m. at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney.

Vermont bluegrass band Possumhaw will perform in Schroon Lake, NY at the Boathouse Theater on Tuesday July 22nd at 8:00 p.m., and at a free concert in Hinesburg on Wednesday July 23rd in the gazebo behind the Hinesburg community school at 6:30 p.m.

The Barre Heritage and Homecoming Festival will be happening in downtown Barre from Wednesday July 23rd through  Sunday July 27th. In addition to lots of other special events, featured musicians include Michele Choiniere, Marty Morrissey and Robert Resnik, Prydein,  the Starline Rhythm Boys, Good Old Wagon , the Nicht Gefehrlach Klezmer Band,  and many more.

The Bluegrass Gospel Project will play on Friday July 25th at the Community Church Summer Concert Series in Essex, NY at 7:30 p.m.

Finest Kind will perform at the Elley-Long Center at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester on Saturday July 26th at 4:00 p.m. followed by a potluck and dance with the band Wild Asparagus playing at 8:00 p.m.

Café Lena in Saratoga Springs presents Aztec Two Step on Friday July 25th .  Lenas will also be presenting Martha Gallagher on Saturday July 26th and Slaid Cleves on Sunday July 27th.

Rick Norcross and his Ramblers will perform as part of the Grand Isle Lake House concert series on Sunday July 27th at 6:30 p.m.

Woodchuck's Revenge will be playing at 9:00 a.m. on Friday July 25th at Lamoille County Field Days in Johnson.

The Twangtown Paramours will be at the Skinny Pancake in Burlington on Friday July 25th at 8:00 p.m.

The free lunchtime series in City Hall Park in Burlington presents the Starline Rhythm Boys on Wednesday July 23rd and Possumhaw on Friday July 25th. All concerts beging at noon.

The Richmond Round Church summer concert series presents a children's concert with Jon Gailmor on Friday July 25th at 7:00 p.m.

The Steph Pappas Experience will perform at the Rose Street Artist's Coop in Burlington on Saturday July 26th at 7:00 p.m.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
