This week Joel Najman's My Place profiles artists who recorded for the Ace Record Company of Jackson, Mississippi as well as the company's colorful founder Johnny Vincent.
Between 1955 and 1962, Ace specialized in R&B and pop music coming out of New Orleans during the rock era's earliest years including memorable hits by Huey "Piano" Smith, Jimmy Clanton, and Frankie Ford.
