For Bob McQuillen

Thinking of Bob McQuillen, one of New England's great contradance musicians and composers - he wrote literally thousands of dance tunes!  Bob died this week at the age of 90, surrounded by music and by friends who have played music with him for years.  His music starts and ends the show today.

Old Songs will present the Nuala Kennedy Band, on Friday, February 14th at 8:00 p.m. at 37 South Main Street, Voorheesville, NY.

There will be a tribute to Pete Seeger at the North End Studio in Burlington on Sunday evening February 16th featuring Rik Palieri, Robert DeCormier, and many others.

There will be an English Country Dance at the Cheshire County Historical Society, 246 Main Street in Keene, NH on Sunday, February 16th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Mary Jones will be calling and Thal Aylward and Carol Compton will provide the music.

There will be a contra dance at Tunbridge VT Town Hall on Friday February 14th at 7:30 p.m. Live music by Harold Luce and others

Lauren Sheehan will be performing at the Walkover Gallery in Bristol on Saturday, February 15th at 8:00 p.m.

Annabelle Chovstek will perform on Sunday February 16th at the Richmond Free Library.  Music begins at 4:00 p.m.

Bagitos in Montpelier presents Andy Pitt and friends playing blues and roots music on Thursday February 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  

Café Lena in Saratoga Springs presents the Folk Oasis on Saturday February 15th with music beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing  for 12 hours.  Free admission with a Dance Flurry badge.  Featured performers includes Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, Raz de Maree, Lydia Ievins and Andrea Larson, Pete Sutherland and Pete’s Posse, Sam Amidon, Kim and Reggie Harris, and more.

The Whallonsburg Grange in Whallonsburg, NY presents a very special tribute concert, “A Heart for Nelson Mandela” with the South African band Sharon Katz and The Peace Train on Friday February 14th at 7:00 p.m.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
