Vermont's main tax revenue sources lagged behind their targets in last month, with higher-than-expected corporate income tax refunds the biggest concern. The Vermont Supreme Court has rejected a claim by a former temporary state correctional officer that he was denied a permanent job because he was preparing to head to Afghanistan as part of the Vermont National Guard. For over forty years, in ten different American cities, amateur singers and dancers have joined professional performers to welcome the winter solstice with a holiday variety show called “The Revels.” This year at Dartmouth’s Hopkins Center, the theme is “An Appalachian Celebration,” and it features some  high-stepping, fast-fiddling Vermonters. VPR’s Charlotte Albright stopped by a rehearsal.

Peter was a Producer/Announcer at VPR until 2015. He began his public radio career in 2007 at WHQR-FM in Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Morning Edition host and reporter, covering county government and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. His work has won several Associated Press awards and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and PRI's This American Life. A graduate of the creative writing program at the University of Maine at Farmington, Peter enjoys writing, cooking and traveling.
