My Place: The Cadence Records Story - Part 1: The Pre-Rock & Roll Years

Cadence Records was a very successful independent record company formed by bandleader Archie Bleyer in 1952 which, before it closed its doors in 1964, placed over 100 hit singles on Billboard's national popularity charts.

This week My Place presents The Cadence Records Story - Part One: The Pre-Rock & Roll Years, featuring an hour of memorable hit recordings by Julius LaRosa, the Chordettes, Andy Williams and many others who recorded for Cadence Records.

Joel Najman

Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
