In a town wide ballot yesterday voters in Brattleboro overturned the town’s 2015 municipal budget. The $16 million spending plan was approved by the town’s representative town meeting on March 22nd.
The Vermont Department of Labor says the state's unemployment rate dropped three-tenths of a percent last month to 3.4 percent, the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the country. A judge has ordered a mental health evaluation of a Vermont man charged with shooting and wounding two state police troopers and a disabled neighbor to determine if he is competent to stand trial. Lowe's has agreed to pay a $500,000 federal penalty to settle claims the chain's contractors in New Hampshire, Vermont and at least seven other states broke environmental lead paint rules.

But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
