The state Lottery Commission would like to raise more revenue by installing new gaming machines in bars and restaurants. The Vermont House said ‘no’ to the idea. But now the commission wants another chance in the Senate. The Vermont Economic Progress Council has given initial approval to nearly one million dollars in incentives to Keurig Green Mountain, formerly known as Green Mountain Coffee. The company is Vermont’s largest locally based business and its sales have quadrupled over the past four years. The Chittenden County Transportation Authority says it will attend a mediated meeting this weekend with the bus drivers' union in hopes of ending a strike.
