Vermont utility regulators have until the end of March to decide whether to approve an agreement between Entergy Vermont Yankee and the Shumlin Administration. The pact calls for Entergy to pay $10 million dollars to help with economic recovery after Vermont Yankee closes later this year. But opponents say the state would lose more than it gains if the deal goes forward. The fight for single-payer health care promises to be one of the heaviest political lifts in state history. And a new group has now put some financial weight behind the lobbying push. Vermont lawmakers will be examining the effects of new environmental regulations on transportation in the state.
