The U.S. Senate gave its bipartisan approval last night to a two year budget agreement. Both of Vermont’s senators supported the deal, but with very different levels of enthusiasm. Federal regulators are being asked to resolve a regional rift over who should pay for new power lines needed to carry renewable electricity to southern New England. Vermont is one of six states to win a grant to improve early education programs.
