For groups that have fought The Vermont Yankee nuclear plant over the years, the announcement that the plant would close next year could mean less financial support. A Vermont investment board has announced the availability of $40,000 in grants for investment in poultry processing projects. Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger says his community has been dubbed "New England's Gigabyte City" and he's hoping to be able to make Burlington "a great tech city." In an effort to fight crime, the City Council in St. Albans has approved installation of video surveillance cameras in a local park.
Neal was a reporter and VPR's All Things Considered host from 2001 to 2014. He joined VPR in 1996, hosting VPR's jazz programming, including live performances from the VPR studios and the Discover Jazz Festival. Prior to VPR, Neal was a programmer and host for WNCS in Montpelier and WDEV in Waterbury. He holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.
