VPR will carry gavel-to-gavel live coverage of the impeachment trial of President Trump beginning January 21.

Beginning Tuesday, January 21, Vermont Public Radio will bring you special coverage from NPR of the impeachment trial of President Trump. VPR will broadcast the U.S. Senate hearings live on the air and streaming at VPR.org
As a public service organization we consider it our responsibility to provide freely available, broad access to these hearings at this critical point in our history. Therefore, VPR will offer live gavel-to-gavel coverage of the trial on our broadcast stations and online stream

The exact timing of the trial is still up in the air, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has suggested the trial could run up to six days a week, for several weeks. Based on what we know now, the hearings will begin around 1 p.m. each day and end between 6-8 p.m. We will keep you updated on air and online as we learn more.

To make sure you can still get caught up on news of the day, on trial days, Monday through Thursday, VPR will air an additional hour of All Things Considered from 7-8 p.m., followed by the rebroadcast of Vermont Edition at 8 p.m. On Fridays, Vermont Edition and Friday Night Jazz will stay at 7 and 8 p.m.

For those interested in VPR’s regular schedule, VPR will provide an additional audio stream with our standard program lineup, except without local breaks in Morning Edition and All Things Considered (you will hear the Eye On The Sky forecast twice an hour, however). You can listen by selecting “Program Stream” from the gray bar at the top of this page, in the VPR mobile app, or if you have an HD Radio, by selecting our HD-3 channel (which normally airs the BBC World Service).
