Vermont Public Radio has elected Nicole Ravlin of Shelburne to its Board of Directors to serve a three-year term.
As co-founder of People Making Good Public Relations, Ravlin works on new business development for the agency and serves the agency’s clients as a lead communications strategist and crisis communication manager. Her clients include international, national, and Vermont brands including: EO Products, The Republic of Tea, Les Trois Petits Cochons, and Darn Tough Vermont.
Prior to PMG, Ravlin was a senior manager at the national PR firms Cone Communications and Giles Communications, serving clients including VH1, Yamaha Corp., Bausch & Lomb, and Rollerblade. She was also Director of Sales and Marketing at Topnotch Resort for six years overseeing sales, marketing and catering departments.
She has a BA in Public Relations and Communication from Trinity College, and is a frequently requested national speaker on social media and public relations. In 2015, Nicole was named a ‘Woman of Influence in the Food Industry’ by the Griffin Report.
"Public radio has been part of my daily life for as long as I can remember; I've had many driveway moments while listening to VPR,” Ravlin said. “Serving as a member of the Board of Directors for an organization that keeps all Vermonters abreast of important and breaking local and world news is an honor."
In addition to Ravlin’s election, the following officers were also elected to one-year terms at the Board’s September meeting:
- Vice Chair: Peggy Williams

The positions of Chair and Treasurer are currently filled by Charlie Kireker and Bob Young, respectively, whose terms in those positions expire in Sept. 2016.
Departing Board Member Doug Griswold was also honored for his nine years of service on the Board Of Directors.
“The VPR Board is truly exemplary, with a depth of experience in governance, business, digital, content creation, philanthropic development, arts and culture, and leadership,” said VPR President Robin Turnau. “Board members are passionate about the mission of VPR and inspire the organization to be innovative and provide the highest level of public service possible.”
