Update 9/30/13:
VPR listeners sure can dance! What an awesome party Saturday night in Middlebury! We filled the hall by 7:30 and had a line outside for the next few hours. Everyone got in eventually and danced the night away.
Thank you for celebrating 30 years of My Place with Joel Najman with us; we hope to do it again! Enjoy more scenes from VPR A Go-Go at our Flickr page!
Update 9/23/13:
Join us for VPR A Go-Go! We're celebrating Joel Najman's30th anniversary of hosting VPR's rock and roll music and history program, My Place, on Saturday, September 28 at 7 p.m., at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury.
Joel will be spinning tunes from the 60s, sharing stories and getting everyone on their feet. Mod costumes are encouraged and we'll have prizes for the best 60s hairdo! Plus, a Twister tournament, go-go dancers, refreshments, and more!
Admission will be by donation of non-perishable foods to HOPE (Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects) based in Addison County.
Need help with a costume? Here are some tips from WikiHow on how to dress mod!
So you think you can dance? We are looking for Go-Go dancers of all types to grace Joel's stage! If you're up for dressing the part and showing off your Frug, Watusi, Mashed Potato, or Booglaoo, contact Ty Robertson at trobertson@vpr.net to let her know. Thanks!
Hope you can make it!
