We are pleased to announce that Vermont Public Radio has been honored by the Public Radio News Directors Inc. (PRNDI) with two national awards for its news reporting in 2012.
Vermont Edition was recognized for its program “Tiny Houses, Big Statement,” which explored the design, building, and living in homes under 300 square feet.
The VPR news team received an award for its All Things Considered newscast for October 29, 2012, the night Hurricane Sandy bore down on Vermont.
The awards were presented at a ceremony last Saturday, June 22. VPR competes in the large station category, which includes major metro stations WNYC, WBUR, and KPLU. The PRNDI awards are the only national contest recognizing outstanding public radio news reporting at local stations.
