Democrats will hold a majority in the U.S. House come January, after the party flipped a number of Republican seats around the country — including some in New York state.
One of those flips came in a district just over the Vermont border in New York’s 19th Congressional District, where Democrat Antonio Delgado defeated incumbent Republican Rep. John Faso.
Democrats also had a good night in state legislative races. They go into the next session with wide majorities in the Legislature and control of the governor's office.
David Lombardo, who covers New York politics for the Albany Times Union, spoke with VPR to break down the election outcomes in parts of the Empire State.
