Vt. Unemployment Up In August, To 3.3 Percent

Unemployment in Vermont was up slightly in August to 3.3 percent, according to thelatest numbers from the Department of Labor.

Officials say August numbers show Vermont had the fifth-lowest unemployment rate in the nation.

The numbers show the highest unemployment rates in the Northeast Kingdom and lowest in Chittenden County.

Despite the slight overall uptick in unemployment, there was growth in August in manufacturing and in leisure & hospitality jobs.
