The sale of the Rutland Herald and Barre-Montpelier Times Argus was finalized Friday afternoon.
The papers were sold at an undisclosed price to Reade Brower, principal owner of MaineToday Media and Chip Harris, the former CEO of Upper Valley Press. The Upper Valley Press has been printing both papers since 2011.
The sale of the Herald and Time-Argus was announced after shortly after news broke that checks to some newsroom staffers had bounced, and details emerged about the financial struggles of the papers.
VPR spoke to Chris Miles, CEO of Alliance Press and the executive in charge of the transition in the sale of the papers.
