Weekend Vandalism At Saxtons River Treatment Plant

Vermont State Police are asking for information about a break-in at the water and sewage treatment plant in Saxtons River.

Police are investigating the incident, which took place between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, as a vandalism case.

A State Police press release states:

The subjects entered the gated plant area without causing damage to the gate then threw plastic lids, a broken trash barrel, several tools and metal valve covers into the sewer water. They then unplugged the meter that records the input/output of water flow through the filters. The main office was broken into but nothing was taken.

The incident was reported to police on Sunday. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police in Rockingham at 802-875-2112. Information can also be submitted anonymously online at www.vtips.info or text "CRIMES" (274637) to keyword: VTIPS.
