The Vermont GOP looks to have another potential candidate for 2014.
According to a report from WCAX Monday morning, Scott Milne, president of a travel company that bears his name, is “seriously considering” a run for governor.
With fewer than six months until the November election, Republicans have yet to field a candidate for the state’s top office. But at least four people now are considering a challenge to Gov. Peter Shumlin, a second-term Democrat.
In addition to Milne, Stowe Rep. Heidi Scheuermann, former Wall Street executive Bruce Lisman, and former state auditor Randy Brock are mulling gubernatorial bids.
Scheuermann and Brock had said they planned on making a decision shortly after the close of the legislative session, which ended Saturday. WCAX reports that Milne will make a final decision “in the coming weeks.”
