About 650 Vermonters are set to lose their extended unemployment benefits.
Unless Congress extends the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation Program, it will end on December 28th.
The Department of Labor says it is in the process of notifying affected individuals.
The emergency compensation has been available for people who have exhausted their state benefits, which last up to 26 weeks.
The program that is ending provided emergency benefits for up to 14 additional weeks.
The department is encouraging anyone who needs help finding a job to visit one of its offices across the state.
