The lawyer for a high-ranking Burlington police officer arrested on a drunken driving charge says prosecutors are withholding information key to his defense.
Burlington Deputy Chief Andi Higbee denies charges he was driving drunk when he was pulled over last month by a state trooper on Route 105 in Sheldon.
WCAX-TV reports Higbee is challenging the probable cause for the stop and whether the trooper was trying to reach a quota set for the special DUI patrol he was conducting.
Higbee's lawyer wants to see video of another stop the trooper made that night and review records related to the DUI patrol. Prosecutors say that information is not relevant to the case.
