Lt. Gov. Phil Scott will travel to Hyde Park for an update on emergency preparedness in Vermont schools.
Scott says the Vermont Enhanced 911 Board and other state agencies have been coordinating efforts to make sure there's a telephone in every classroom whose physical location is correctly recorded in the E-911 database.
The work has been underway since shortly after the mass shooting at a school in Newtown, Conn.
It’s involved the Vermont Agency of Education Department of Public Safety, police chiefs, sheriffs and Scott's office.
