More than 10,000 men and women will be in Vermont next month running through woods, leaping through fire, wading through mud and water, and climbing ropes for an extreme obstacle course competition.
Massachusetts-based Spartan Race Inc. is putting on its 2013 Reebok Spartan Race World Championship at Killington Ski Resort for two days of races on Sept. 21 and 22. More than $250,000 in cash and other prizes will be awarded.
Participants traverse a course longer than 12 miles that tests their endurance and skills. Organizers say the races will be aired on NBC in October.
