Flags in the city of Barre are being flown at half-staff in honor of a law enforcement officer killed in a car crash.
Services were held Wednesday in Barre and at the Norwich University chapel in Northfield for 22-year-old Michael Zemanek, a 2012 Norwich graduate.
Zemanek died last week after the car he was driving hit guardrails on Interstate 89 in Waterbury. The cause of the crash has not been determined.
Zemanek was a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. He also worked part-time as a police officer in Northfield.
