A lawyer for Burlington's deputy police chief says he expects his client will plead not guilty to a charge of drunken driving.
Deputy Chief Andi Higbee of Colchester was arrested for drunken driving early Sunday while off-duty after being pulled over in Sheldon.
His attorney says an alcohol breath tests shows Higbee was under the legal limit for driving. He says a second test done a few minutes later showed he was slightly over the legal limit.
Higbee has been put on paid administrative leave.
