A leader in securing rights for Vermont's immigrant farm workers says he's hopeful he'll be able to stay in the United States.
Danilo Lopez seeks a stay of removal from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He says he plans to stay in the country past his scheduled deportation date today.
And Migrant Justice, an advocacy group working with Lopez, says it's hopeful the stay will be granted.
It says it bases that hope largely on the support Lopez has received, including letters to the federal agency from the three members of Vermont's congressional delegation.
