Former Office Manager Will Plead Guilty To Embezzlement Charges

The former office manager of a well-known southern Vermont law firm has agreed to plead guilty to embezzling $200,000 from the firm.

The Barre Montpelier Times Argus reports on federal court documents showing Kimberly Wilde has entered into a plea agreement with federal prosecutors to plead guilty to wire fraud and make restitution to the Potter Stewart Jr. Law Firm in Brattleboro. The firm is headed by Potter Stewart Jr., whose father was a U.S. Supreme Court justice.

The newspaper says Wilde faces a sentence of up to 20 years, but prosecutors have agreed to seek a sentence at the low end of federal sentencing guidelines.

A phone number could not be found in Wilde's name. Her attorney could not be reached for comment.
