A 9-year-old Vermont boy is headed to Washington, D.C. next month to be recognized at the White House for his healthy recipe for turkey burgers.
Colin Hurliman, of Burlington, is one of 54 kids from across the country invited by First Lady Michelle Obama as part of her "Let's Move!" initiative, which is designed to promote healthy lunches.
The Healthy Lunchtime Challenge & Kids' "State Dinner" invited a parent or guardian to work with their child between the ages 8-12 to create a lunchtime recipe that is healthy, affordable, original and delicious.
Colin's recipe is called "Champ's Maple BBQ Turkey Burgers."
The "state dinner" is scheduled for July 9.
