The superintendent of schools for four Chittenden County towns is the 2013 Vermont Superintendent of the Year.
Elaine Pinckney is the superintendent for the public schools in Charlotte, Hinesburg, Shelburne and Williston.
Pinckney was elected by members of the Vermont Superintendents Association. She was presented with the award last week at the association’s annual meeting.
The Burlington Free Press reports that Pinckney has worked as superintendent for the Chittenden South Supervisory Union since 2006.
Prior to that she worked as the state's deputy education commissioner.
